  • Problem: Design a Professional website with improved SEO and additional Call to Action 

 
 

Exploration

Personas: 

With owners we came up with personas for their ideal customers from each of their categories. This way I could better understand who we were tailoring the site towards.

I found through this process the ideal candidates of each category we were making. This lead to understanding where each candidate would be in the hierarchy of clientele, and allowed for a better developed flow for the site.

With this info I was able to come up with an initial structure for the site

 

Sketches:

I made some preliminary sketches to lay out basics for the site and get some quick notesI found through my sketches where most of the elements were going to sit.

It allowed me to piece together elements I liked from other sites and similar industry’s.

After sketching I could then produce a wireframe to work off of. This allowed me to test and get feedback on placement and flow

 

UX design process

Flows:

Visualize the structure of the site’s interactions 

This lead to the site funneling down to contacting or booking being an end point to each line of the flow on the site

 

 

Wireframes:

Layout for all site pages

This highly influenced the final design 

Allowing us to move sections as needed

Prototypes:

Allowed for testing of interactions and usability 

Prototyping allowed for us to drop a few elements from the final design that seemed redundant 

 
 

Final design

In the End we went with a straightforward structure relying on the galleries for interaction and content. We really went with elements the analytics suggested we’re the companies bread and butter as the focus for each sections placement. We added some color to give the full site more personality. 

Impact

After first month traffic up 70%

Increased traffic on social media

Time on site was up by 75%

Site SEO all over 90

 
 

  What I Learned:

  • We had an ambitious time frame but made a pretty big impact on that short time. I was happy to launch and have the stats go up. Overall this design and project turned out to be a success 

  • Would have streamlined the site a little more. The client needed a quick launch so we had to make some concessions. Ideally I would have liked to get to design a shop portal and account login as well.
